We finished as runner-up and now we will all look forward to 2024 where we will be pushing for the top step of the podium.\u201d<\/em><\/p><p>Masson was a Suzuki Endurance Racing Team rider when he partnered Black to the 2019\/20 FIM Endurance World Championship crown \u2013 his third EWC title success.<\/p><p><em>\u201cI\u2019ve ridden with SERT many times and we\u2019ve enjoyed good success,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0<strong>Masson said<\/strong>.\u00a0<em>\u201cIt was a little different returning to the team at the beginning of 2023 as things had changed, and obviously the Yoshimura crew are now a big part of the set-up. However, there was no concern as they know the bike perfectly and they improved it a lot in three years.<\/em><\/p><p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p><p><em>\u201cI found the character of the Suzuki GSX-R1000R was still the same, but some detailed changes made a real difference to the performance. The switch to Bridgestone tyres was so good too. My first test in Jerez in March was a good memory, mainly because I had a good feeling with the Bridgestone and lap after lap, I was really, really happy on the bike.<\/em><\/p><p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p><p><em>\u201cBeing back in the team with Gregg was great. I\u2019ve known him for more than 10 years, not just as a simple team-mate, but as a friend. We have shared a lot of emotions \u2013 both positive and negative.\u201d<\/em><\/p><p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p><p><strong>Looking back on the four-event 2023 EWC season, Masson said:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201c<em>Le Mans was not the start I was hoping for with my first race back in the team, but we stayed focused and our objective was just one thing: to save as many points as possible. The main positive we took away from the first round was that we were the fastest on track.<\/em><\/p><p><em>\u201cAt Spa we were again really fast, but after some issues we finished fourth. However, we also moved up from seventh in the championship to fourth.<\/em><\/p><p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p><p><em>\u201cThe result at Suzuka was a hard one to accept as second place was secured but, when the rain fell, we made a mistake. We still finished fourth but should have been on the podium.<\/em><\/p><p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p><p><em>\u201cThen it was the Bol d\u2019Or and the end of the race season \u2013 we had no choice except to push to the maximum. The bike was perfect, the team made perfect pit stops and we didn\u2019t have a problem. Sadly, Sylvain was sick at around 6am and that ruled him out for the rest of the race so we won the race with just two riders. It was really cool that I got to share that victory with Gregg, and it was a good gift for one of the team\u2019s longest serving crew members \u2018Petit Paulo\u2019 as it was his last race with us.\u201d<\/em><\/p><p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p><p><em>Masson was looking back on the 2023 FIM Endurance World Championship for Yoshimura SERT Motul. Le switch \u00e0 Bridgestone pneu \u00e9tait si bon aussi. Je le connais depuis plus de 10 ans, non seulement en tant que simple co\u00e9quipier, mais aussi en tant qu\u2019ami. Nous avons partag\u00e9 beaucoup d\u2019\u00e9motions \u2013 positives et n\u00e9gatives. <\/i>\u00bb<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>En&nbsp;se&nbsp;rem\u00e9morant&nbsp;les quatre \u00e9v\u00e9nements de la saison 2023 EWC, Masson a<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>affirm\u00e9<\/strong> : &#8220;<i>Le Mans n\u2019\u00e9tait pas le d\u00e9part que j\u2019esp\u00e9rais avec ma premi\u00e8re course dans l\u2019\u00e9quipe, mais nous sommes rest\u00e9s concentr\u00e9s et notre objectif n\u2019\u00e9tait qu\u2019une chose : sauvez le plus de points possible. Le principal point positif que nous avons retenu du premier tour \u00e9tait que nous \u00e9tions les plus rapides en piste.&#8221;<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>&nbsp;<\/i><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<i>Nous avons \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s rapides \u00e0 Spa, mais nous avons eu quelques difficult\u00e9s, nous sommes arriv\u00e9s quatri\u00e8mes.<\/i>&#8220;<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<i>Le r\u00e9sultat \u00e0 Suzuka a \u00e9t\u00e9 difficile d&#8217;accepter, car nous nous \u00e9tions d\u00e9j\u00e0 assur\u00e9s de la deuxi\u00e8me place, mais la pluie est venue perturber notre course. La moto \u00e9tait parfaite, l\u2019\u00e9quipe a fait des arr\u00eats aux stands parfaits et nous n\u2019avons pas eu de probl\u00e8me. Malheureusement, Sylvain \u00e9tait malade vers 6h du matin et cela a entra\u00een\u00e9 son exclusion pour le reste de la course, ce qui a conduit \u00e0 notre victoire avec seulement deux coureurs.
