Le BMW Motorrad Motorsport Official Team Japan s'engage à temps plein en 2026
Full-time entry in the FIM EWC as the first BMW Motorrad Motorsport Official Team Japan
Pour sa cinquième année d’activité, l’AutoRace Ube Racing Team s’engagera à plein temps au Championnat du Monde d’Endurance FIM (FIM EWC) avec la BMW M 1000 RR pour 2026. L’équipe disputera le championnat en catégorie EWC, la classe reine de la discipline.
À partir de cette saison, l’AutoRace Ube Racing Team opérera officiellement en tant que BMW Motorrad Motorsport Official Team Japan. Suite à sa victoire en JSB1000 au sein du Championnat MFJ All Japan Road Race, ainsi qu’aux solides performances aux 8 Heures de Suzuka et au Bol d’Or, l’équipe a eu l’honneur de recevoir une invitation pour courir en tant qu’équipe officielle du Japon.
Quant au line-up 2026, l’équipe alignera Naomichi Uramoto, troisième du JSB1000 la saison dernière, aux côtés des pilotes officiels BMW Motorrad Motorsport Sylvain Guintoli (France) et Hannes Soomer (Estonie).
L’ancien Champion du Monde FIM Superbike (WorldSBK) et FIM EWC Sylvain Guintoli, ainsi que Hannes Soomer, vainqueur en catégorie Superstock aux 8 Heures de Spa Motos et au Bol d’Or la saison dernière, devraient élever significativement le potentiel global de l’équipe. De son côté, la vitesse et la régularité de Naomichi Uramoto sont déjà très respectées dans le paddock EWC. Avec ces trois pilotes, l’AutoRace Ube Racing Team visera le titre en FIM EWC.
Pour la saison 2026, Tsunetaka Igami sera Team Manager et dirigera les opérations en piste ainsi que la stratégie de course.
Tsune Igami (Team Manager AutoRace Ube Racing Team) : « Nous sommes très heureux d’être la BMW Motorrad Motorsport Official Team au Japon. C’est formidable de faire partie de la famille BMW, et nous avons hâte de commencer la saison. »
Sylvain Guintoli (AutoRace Ube Racing Team) : « C’est un nouveau défi super motivant pour moi. L’an dernier, les performances de l’équipe AutoRace Ube dès leurs débuts avec la BMW ont été incroyables, pas seulement en Championnat All Japan, où Naomichi a réussi à gagner deux courses, mais aussi en étant ultra-compétitive aux 8 Heures de Suzuka et au Bol d’Or pour leur première course de 24 heures avec très peu de préparation. Ils ont fait un travail remarquable la saison dernière, donc pour moi, les rejoindre maintenant a beaucoup de sens et c’est une motivation supplémentaire pour essayer d’apporter de l’expérience à l’équipe, tenter de la rendre performante tout de suite et aider à l’adaptation. Je suis vraiment enthousiaste. »
Naomichi Uramoto (AutoRace Ube Racing Team) : « Je suis très enthousiaste à l’idée de disputer la saison complète du FIM EWC avec une super équipe et de super coéquipiers, en faisant partie de la grande famille BMW. Je suis vraiment motivé pour cette saison. »
Hannes Soomer (AutoRace Ube Racing Team) : « Pour moi, c’est l’étape suivante dans ma carrière en endurance, devenir pilote à plein temps. C’est la première fois de ma vie sur une Superbike. Comme les deux gars à côté de moi, je suis vraiment excité. J’ai piloté la moto et rejoint l’équipe pour un test l’an dernier avant Suzuka. Je me suis senti bien au sein de l’équipe et sur la moto dès le premier jour. J’ai vraiment hâte de voir ce qu’on peut faire. Je pense qu’on a un très beau trio de pilotes, tout le monde est prêt à travailler, tout le monde est rapide et j’ai hâte d’être au Mans. »
Entering its fifth year of activity, AutoRace Ube Racing Team will compete full-time in the FIM Endurance World Championship (FIM EWC) with the BMW M 1000 RR in 2026. The team will contest the championship in the Formula EWC class, the premier category of the series.
From this season onward, AutoRace Ube Racing Team will officially operate as a BMW Motorrad Motorsport Official Team Japan. Following our victory in the JSB1000 of the MFJ All Japan Road Race Championship, as well as our strong performances at the Suzuka 8 Hours and the Bol d’Or 24 Hours, we were honored to receive an invitation to compete as an Official Team from Japan. This is a tremendous honor for our team, and in 2026, we will race as Japan’s first BMW Motorrad Motorsport Official Team Japan.
For the 2026 rider lineup, the team will field Naomichi Uramoto, who finished third overall in the JSB1000 last season, alongside BMW Motorrad Motorsport factory riders Sylvain Guintoli (France) and Hannes Soomer (Estonia), forming a powerful three-rider squad.
Former FIM Superbike World Championship (WSBK) and FIM Endurance World Championship titleholder Sylvain Guintoli, together with Hannes Soomer, who claimed Superstock class victories at the 8 Hours of Spa Motos and Bol d’Or last season, are expected to significantly elevate the team’s overall potential. Meanwhile, Naomichi Uramoto’s speed and consistency are already highly regarded throughout the EWC paddock. With these three riders, AutoRace Ube Racing Team will challenge for the World Championship title in the FIM EWC.
In 2026 season, Team Manager will be Tsunetaka Igami, who will lead the team’s on-track operations and race strategy.

Sylvain Guintoli (AutoRace Ube Racing Team): “This is another super motivating challenge for me. Last year the performance from the AutoRace Ube team straight away with the BMW was incredible, not only in the All Japan Championship, where Naomichi managed to win two races, but also to be ultra-competitive in the Suzuka 8 Hours as well as at the Bol d’Or for their first 24-hour race at very short notice. They did an amazing job last year, so for me to step in now feels like it makes a lot of sense and like extra motivation to try and bring some experience into the team, to try to make it sort of successful straight away and help with the adaptation. I’m mega excited.”
Naomichi Uramoto (AutoRace Ube Racing Team): “I’m very excited to race the full season of FIM EWC with a great team and great teammates as a part of the big BMW family. I’m really motivated for the season.”
Hannes Soomer (AutoRace Ube Racing Team): “For me it’s the next step in my endurance career to be a full time rider. It’s the first time in my life on a superbike. Like the two guys next to me, I’m also really excited. I rode the bike and joined the team for one test last year before Suzuka. I felt good in the team and on the bike from the first day. I’m really excited to see what we can do. I think we have a really nice set of three riders, everybody is ready to work, everybody is fast and I’m looking forward to Le Mans.”
