F.C.C. TSR Honda France occupait la t\u00eate apr\u00e8s huit heures de course, et le YART lui a renvoy\u00e9 le compliment apr\u00e8s la seizi\u00e8me. Mais si la formation autrichienne est rest\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cart des ennuis, des probl\u00e8mes d\u2019\u00e9chappement ont contraint F.C.C. TSR Honda \u00e0 passer cinq minutes \u00e0 son stand juste apr\u00e8s ce cap des 16 heures de course.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Cet arr\u00eat co\u00fbteux a permis au YART Yamaha de creuser un \u00e9cart, et m\u00eame de prendre un peu trop de temps pour changer un pneu arri\u00e8re endommag\u00e9 juste avant le terme de la 19e heure, pour voler vers un premier succ\u00e8s sur une course de 24 heures depuis son triomphe de 2009 au Mans.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Un Niccol\u00f2 Canepa combl\u00e9, qui a rejoint Fritz et Karel Hanika sur la machine n\u00b0 7 \u00e9quip\u00e9e de pneus Bridgestone, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 :\u00a0<em>\u201cVoil\u00e0 quelques ann\u00e9es que nous courons apr\u00e8s cette victoire et je pense qu\u2019elle sera suivie de beaucoup d\u2019autres. Nous la m\u00e9ritons tous, et j\u2019en suis tr\u00e8s content. Merci \u00e0 toutes les personnes impliqu\u00e9es dans ce projet, et ce n\u2019est que le d\u00e9but. \u00c7a a \u00e9t\u00e9 une course fabuleuse. Honn\u00eatement, elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 difficile, tr\u00e8s difficile. Du d\u00e9but \u00e0 la fin, \u00e7a n\u2019a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 facile. Jusque dans les derniers tours, il y avait un point d\u2019interrogation. L\u2019\u00e9quipe a fait un travail fabuleux \u00e0 chaque pit-stop et mes \u00e9quipiers aussi. Nous avons attaqu\u00e9 d\u00e8s le premier tour et jusqu\u2019au dernier. Nous n\u2019avons jamais cess\u00e9 d\u2019y croire. Il y avait longtemps que nous n\u2019avions pas gagn\u00e9 une course de 24 heures. Mais dans notre esprit, il n\u2019y avait qu\u2019un objectif : gagner, quoi qu\u2019il arrive.\u201d<\/em><\/p><p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p><p>La structure belge de BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team a pleinement tir\u00e9 profit d\u2019une s\u00e9rie de d\u00e9convenues subies par le Yoshimura SERT Motul pour prendre la troisi\u00e8me place \u00e0 domicile, la Suzuki prenant quant \u00e0 elle la quatri\u00e8me.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>BMW Motorrad a \u00e9t\u00e9 ralenti par quelques soucis m\u00e9caniques durant les huit premi\u00e8res heures, mais Yoshimura SERT Motul a endur\u00e9 une course malchanceuse apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 clairement en lice pour la t\u00eate. Sylvain Guintoli a voulu s\u2019arr\u00eater devant un garage qui n\u2019\u00e9tait pas le sien durant la premi\u00e8re heure, puis l\u2019\u00e9quipe a \u00e9t\u00e9 p\u00e9nalis\u00e9e d\u2019un stop-go pour un accrochage d\u2019\u00c9tienne Masson avec la moto de Holland Motorstore Racing dans le virage n\u00b0 7, peu avant la fin de la cinqui\u00e8me heure.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Les malheurs de la formation japonaise se sont poursuivis quand sa machine a \u00e9t\u00e9 contrainte de revenir \u00e0 son stand pour trois minutes afin que soit r\u00e9gl\u00e9 un souci technique apr\u00e8s la sixi\u00e8me heure. Et ses chances de monter sur le podium se sont envol\u00e9es pour de bon quand un changement de pompe \u00e0 eau s\u2019est impos\u00e9 \u00e0 trois heures et demie de l\u2019arriv\u00e9e.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Le Team Kawasaki Webike Trickstar a termin\u00e9 cinqui\u00e8me, s\u2019\u00e9tant bien remis d\u2019une chute en d\u00e9but de course pour Kazuki Watanabe qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 emmen\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4pital pour des examens, mais est revenu sur le circuit pour reprendre une course plut\u00f4t tranquille par la suite. Autre structure belge, KM99 est remont\u00e9e \u00e0 la sixi\u00e8me place apr\u00e8s 16 heures au fil d\u2019une belle nuit pour sa Yamaha, elle qui pointait en 14e position apr\u00e8s huit. Bastien Mackels avait en effet chut\u00e9 dans Eau Rouge durant la premi\u00e8re, avant que son \u00e9quipier Lucas Mahias ne parte en glisse pr\u00e8s de l\u2019entr\u00e9e des stands apr\u00e8s sept heures et demie.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Honda Vilta\u00efs Racing a pris la septi\u00e8me place, Motobox Kremer Racing la huiti\u00e8me, MANA-AU Competition la neuvi\u00e8me et le TATI Team Beringer a cl\u00f4tur\u00e9 le top 10 \u2013 inscrivant des points \u2013 d\u2019une course perturb\u00e9e par la pluie sur la fin.\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>ERC Endurance Ducati n\u2019a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 en mesure de r\u00e9it\u00e9rer sa quatri\u00e8me place de l\u2019ouverture de la saison EWC au Mans, devant renoncer apr\u00e8s pas loin de quatre heures de course. TSR Honda led the Spa order after eight hours, with YART repaying the compliment after 16. But while YART largely stayed out of trouble, exhaust problems forced F.C.C. TSR Honda into the pits for five minutes just after the 16-hour mark.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>This costly stoppage allowed YART to steal a march, and even a damaged rear tyre just before 19 hours was swiftly changed in the pits, allowing the team to continue its victory charge for its first win over 24 hours since it triumphed at Le Mans in 2009.\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>A delighted Niccol\u00f2 Canepa, who joined Fritz and Karel Hanika on the Bridgestone-equipped #7 bike, said: \u201c<i>It has been a few years that we have been chasing this victory and I think it\u2019s the first of many. We all deserve it, and I am so happy about that. Thanks to all the people involved in this project and it\u2019s just the beginning. It has been an amazing race. To be honest, it was really, really tough. It was not easy from the beginning to the end. Up until the last laps, there was a question mark. The team did an amazing job in every pit stop and my team-mates too. We pushed from the first lap to the last. We never stopped believing. It\u2019s a long time since we won a 24-hour race. But in our minds, there was only one goal \u2013 to win \u2013 no matter what<\/i>.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Belgian squad BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team took full advantage of a series of Yoshimura SERT Motul misfortunes to take third place in its home event, with the Suzuki-powered squad placed fourth.\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>BMW Motorrad was slowed by some mechanical issues in the first eight hours, but Yoshimura SERT Motul endured a luckless race after starting firmly in contention for the lead. Sylvain Guintoli attempted to pit at the wrong garage in the first hour. The team was then hit by a costly stop-go penalty for contact by \u00c9tienne Masson with the Holland Motorstore Racing bike in turn seven just after the five-hour mark.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The Japanese team\u2019s misfortune continued when its bike was forced into the pits for three minutes to rectify a technical issue after six hours. Its chances of a top-three finish were then ended for good when its bike required a water pump change with three and a half hours left.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Team Kawasaki Webike Trickstar claimed fifth place, overcoming an early crash for Kazuki Watanabe, who was taken to hospital for checks, but returned to the track to resume what was then a pretty smooth race. Belgian outfit KM99 fought its way back into sixth after a fine night with its Yamaha, blazing from 14th place overall after eight hours to sixth spot after 16. This came after Bastian Mackels crashed at Eau Rouge in the opening hour, before his team-mate Lucas Mahias slipped off near the pit entrance at the seven-and-a-half-hour stage.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Honda Vilta\u00efs Racing took seventh place, with Motobox Kremer Racing eighth, MANA-AU Competition ninth and TATI Team Beringer Racing taking the 10th and final scoring position in a race hit by light rain in the closing stages.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>ERC Endurance Ducati was unable to follow up its fourth place at the EWC opener in Le Mans, retiring after nearly four hours. W\u00f3jcik Racing Team EWC followed suit after seven and a half hours, with Team Bolliger Switzerland forced out when its bike was beached in the gravel after 18 hours.
