AFTER LE MANS EWC PROMISE, TEAM AVIOBIKE BY M2 REVO EYES A SPA BREAK
APRÈS UNE COURSE PROMETTEUSE AU MANS, LE TEAM AVIOBIKE BY M2 REVO VISE HAUT À SPA EN EWC
Team Aviobike by M2 Revo will use the upcoming 8 Hours of Spa Motos to build on the potential it demonstrated during the FIM Endurance World Championship season-opening 24 Heures Motos at Le Mans last month with its all-new Aprilia RSV4.
After a promising start, the Italian alliance was hit by misfortune with lengthy pitstops required to replace the clutch and chain on the #111 entry.
But riders Luca Bernardi, Kevin Calia, Samuele Cavalieri and Francesco Cocco didn’t give up and put Team Aviobike by M2 Revo on course to finish a fine fourth among the Dunlop-supplied Superstock category contenders.
Le Team Aviobike by M2 Revo veut mettre à profit les Heures de Spa Motos à venir pour capitaliser sur le potentiel qu’il a démontré lors de la manche d’ouverture du Championnat du monde d’Endurance de la FIM, les 24 Heures Motos le mois dernier au Mans, avec sa toute nouvelle Aprilia RSV4.
Après un début de course prometteur, l’alliance italienne a été frappée de malchance avec de longs arrêts au stand pour remplacer l’embrayage et la chaîne de sa machine n°111.
Cependant, elle et ses pilotes Luca Bernardi, Kevin Calia, Samuele Cavalieri et Francesco Cocco n’ont jamais baissé les bras, se replaçant en lice pour une belle quatrième place finale dans la catégorie Superstock équipée de Dunlop.
However, in a cruel late twist, a front-tyre issue caused a further pitstop just as the race finished, resulting in a non-classification due the team’s Aprilia not taking the chequered flag having completed 810 laps. To compound its frustrations, only four outfits covered more laps than Team Aviobike by M2 Revo.
Team Principal Giovanni Baggi said: “It was a very intense race, which saw the team commit body and soul at every moment. We saw an excellent performance, obtained thanks to the intense work of the riders, technicians and all the members of the team.
“Despite the obstacles that we had to face along the way, we were able to demonstrate the true strength of Aviobike, M2 Revo and Aprilia. The finish is not the best, so we will work hard until the next race, persevering to reach our goal and firmly convinced that during the season we will be able to redeem ourselves and demonstrate our value.”
Hélas, dans un dernier rebondissement cruel, un souci avec le pneu avant a causé un pit-stop supplémentaire au moment de l’arrivée, entraînant un non-classement puisque l’Aprilia n’est pas passée sous le drapeau à damier après avoir couvert 810 tours. Pour ajouter à la frustration du Team Aviobike by M2 Revo, seuls quatre équipages en ont parcouru davantage que le sien.
Le team principal Giovanni Baggi a réagi : “La course a été très intense et a vu l’équipe s’employer corps et âme à chaque moment. Notre niveau de performance a été excellent, grâce au travail intense travail de nos pilotes, techniciens et de tous les membres de l’équipe.”
“En dépit des obstacles auquel nous avons fait face, nous avons aussi pu démontrer la vraie force d’Aviobike, M2 Revo et Aprilia.”
Team Manager Michele Bonaldo added: “After this first weekend of endurance we can say that our Aprilia RSV4 performed excellently, leading us until the end of the scheduled 24 hours and fighting for the podium until the last metre. We are out of the rankings due to a technical problem after having competed for 23 hours 59 minutes and two seconds, but we already consider the event a great success. We have collected a lot of data and the season will be an important period of study for the whole team.
“The guys in the team demonstrated tenacity, dedication and composure in the most difficult situations. Special thanks to Luca Bernardi, Samuele Cavalieri, Kevin Calia and Francesco Cocco for having brought Aprilia and our team into prominent positions and for demonstrating competitiveness.”

Le team manager Michele Bonaldo a ajouté : “Après ce premier week-end d’endurance, nous pouvons dire que les performances de notre Aprilia RSV4 ont été excellentes, nous emmenant au terme des 24 heures et dans la lutte pour le podium jusqu’au dernier mètre. Nous sommes en dehors du classement en raison d’un problème technique après avoir couru 23 heures, 59 minutes et deux secondes, mais considérons déjà ce rendez-vous comme une grande réussite. Nous avons collecté beaucoup de data et la saison sera une importante période d’étude pour toute l’équipe.”
“Nos gars ont montré beaucoup de ténacité, de dévouement et de compréhension dans les situations les plus difficiles.
